Gaeringshus

Situated in South Side Pittsburgh, Gaeringshus is a culinary institute inspired by renowned chef Rene Redzepi's philosophy of fermentation. Fermentation is about taking a simple ingredient and intensifying its qualities over time. Gaeringshus reflects this simple process by the curves of Pittsburgh's rivers to guide the massing of a simple monolithic form. The site is carved and organized to draw in people from all corners of the site.
